Mange users: delete complete

The editing and deleting of users in the admin cp is now complete. I will need to test permissions quickly and do a simple copy paste for editing one's own profile, as well as adding a form for adding users. I don't know when that will be, but it does seem like I have more time when I go to school than the summer after all...

EDIT: Editing doesn't work, I forgot something. My bad.

Creative Commons

Well, since I was looking into the idea of defaulting feeds with feedburner (I don't think automation will work, but I'll have a look at having some special settings for custom feed URL's) I fell upon a page that tells me how to integrate automatic Creative Commons licenses for users' work. The method described is only for per post work (i.e: like Deviantart currently do) so I'll have to modify the suggested method to have it work my way. This really isn't too complicated, as all it is is letting the user choose the license, then setting the footer to display the license link.

I know, I should be working on the user CP and the manage users pages, but seeing as I don't have time to actually code anything, I'm planning what I do want to code. I need some special features like these if I want anybody to even glance at OpenDiode because, quite frankly, the basic features are available elsewhere. The plan is to provide a product that has a high quality standard, and that has certain features that would make users want to use it.

I've also been brainstorming about a possible paid version which would allow the CMS to be used for commercial websites. The idea is that anybody willing to buy Open Diode (I'll have a donate button for those not completely interested in this idea) will be able to do so to get a special license permitting them to use the website for commercial purposes. That is, they will then be permitted to use Open Diode for websites relating to any sort of money making website. When this is set up, I'll go into more detail about it.

Feedburner plans

I believe that there's a method that I can use to automatically sign websites up with feedburner. I'll look into that, and if it's not possible I'll simply add a setting for it before I release the CMS. The reason is because I can understand why many people would use the features from it. I myself will quite like it.

Comment if you have any ideas.

Feedburner + feed integration

I had forgotten to integrate the rss feed into the website so that browsers would know it exists, and while doing so, I got myself some Feedburner action so I could monitor all of you readers. That should be fun. I also added a little link and image for the feed at the bottom of the page, just in case.
Comments css: Looking good

Comments box is back, looks like I had the code somewhere else and I had just forgotten to move it. I hope you like the new feature, which will be developed (well, implemented, as it's not my own code) more in depth when I have time.

I will hopefully get some time to finish my admin cp something next weekend. No promises though.

Edit: Comments now have proper links; one linking to the comment itself, and one to the comment poster's website, if one was entered.

Site force-moved & update coming soon

I'm now force moving all dotlou.com users to my open diode blog, as I wanted to show the stuff nobody could see yet, and I'm adding a cool new feature soon. Yes, I should be finishing the admin cp and installer, but those require a bit more time than I have at the moment, so I'll add something cool instead. So yes, enjoy the look.

I do indeed know that comments look ugly on this theme, I'll fix that eventually, but not just yet. Sorry :P.

Interesting Read: A railroad worker and his son

Quote:
@ Sampson Blog

A railroad worker brought his son to work one day, to show him what his father did for a living. "See Son, pull this lever and the bridge goes up so the boats can pass. Push it so the bridge goes down so the trains can pass." His son was excited about his dad's job. Lunch came along and they were sitting and eating. All of a sudden the train-horn sounded, and it was time to lower the bridge. The little boy raced over to the stairs, and started climbing up to the lever. Losing his balance he fell and landed himself in the large gears beneath the stairs.

His father panicked and tried to reach his son. The train horn sounded yet again, and it was time to make a decision. Hundreds of people on that train are going to die, or his son is going to die. After a painful moment, he turned away from his son and reached for the lever. In tears he pushed the lever, and lowered the bridge. The scream of his own son filled the air.

As the train passed with the hundreds of people who were just saved on account of a horrifying sacrifice, the father screamed at the carts, "Don't you see what happened! Don't you see what I gave for you!" The people laughing, drinking, and carrying on to their own business didn't even see the father screaming, or know of what he did for them.

The Father allowed his Son to be killed, for the many people passing by on the train.

God the Father allowed his Son to be brutally murdered in order to save us. Unfortunately, some of us refuse to believe we are in any form of danger - just as the passengers had no idea the bridge was up. Some of us cannot hear the Father crying out, because of other distractions.
